Description
Teens may feel too young or insecure to be a leader. However, Pointer and Roysden want teens to realize they can be leaders now. Truth & Peace Leader offers great insight into the five components that are part of biblical leadership. They are: identity, service, development, ethics, and influence. Each chapter is divided into the following sections: knowledge, attitude, and practice. The authors offer examples of great leadership and practical ways to live out leadership no matter what age. This material comes from the training offered each summer at the Truth & Peace Conference. Now it’s available to more students through this work.
Allen Pointer is in his 21st year as director of Truth and Peace, the student leadership conference for the Free Will Baptist denomination. He is a graduate of Welch College and has his Master’s in Youth and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. A youth ministry veteran (that would be code for old), Pointer served the congregation of First Free Will Baptist Church in Russellville, Arkansas for over 21 years. He currently serves as Lead Pastor of Cofer’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. Allen and his wife of 31 years, Jill Picirilli, have two daughters, Christen and Catie.
Brandon Roysden is the coordinator for the D6 Conference and serves as the Events Director for Randall House. After spending more than five years mentoring students as a high school teacher in Pleasant View, Tennessee, he earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Austin Peay State University and joined Randall House where he has continued to explore ways to equip and educate the next generation. Brandon and his wife, Beth, have two children, Ethan and Kate.
