Home Sweet Dysfunctional Home

Home Sweet Dysfunctional Home tells the story of the Old Testament character known as Jacob. As a husband and father, Jacob’s life shows parents that no matter how crazy or messed up their family situation gets God can bring hope and restoration into any home.

Dr. Mark Smith and his high school sweetheart, Sherri, have been married since 1987. The Lord has blessed them with four wonderful children Abby and her husband Justus and Adam and his wife Ashlynn. Mark has served in student ministry for over twenty years and is currently serving as Family Pastor at Lakeview Baptist Church in Hickory, North Carolina. Dr. Smith graduated from North Carolina State University in engineering, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity, and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary with a Doctorate of Ministry and is the author of Parental Guidance Suggested.

Mark A. Holmen is the Executive Director of Faith@Home Ministries which equips congregations and families to establish the home as the primary place where faith is lived and nurtured ( Pastor Mark has served as a Sr. Pastor as well as youth and family pastor and has authored numerous books including his popular Faith Begins@Home series of booklets as well as Impress Faith on Your Kids and Church + Home. Pastor Holmen is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker and seminar leader who has spoken for Focus On The Family, Family Life, D6, and the Willow Creek Association. Pastor Mark and his wife, Maria, have been married for 24 years and have a daughter Malyn.
