Paul grounds obedience in what is \u201cright\u201d and \u201cpleasing to the Lord,\u201d without age limits, appealing to the lifelong fifth commandment. Exegetical analysis reveals no expiration clause. \u201cChil- dren\u201d (tekna) denotes offspring broadly. Also, ancient Greco-Roman households spanned generations, and Paul\u2019s vice lists treat parental disobedience as univer- sal sin. This challenges modern individualism, affirming obedience as enduring Christian discipleship, qualified only \u201cin the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 32\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><strong>Daniel K.
