Description
Abstract: The model of Jesus Christ regarding discipleship is active learning while ministering. Jesus mainly taught his disciples through his ministry to the populace. If we are to follow Jesus, we must include active ministry in disciple- ship. Many children who are raised in the church decide to leave the church when they become adults. Parents have the responsibility to disciple their chil- dren and not expect the church to do the discipling alone. The most effective way for parents to disciple their children is through active ministry.
Clyde D. Headley, D.Min., is currently serving as a pastor in eastern North Carolina where he and his wife Terri live. He earned his Doctor of Ministry with an emphasis on discipleship through the history of the church.
