Dr. Pinson explores the historic tradition of feet washing and its influence on the 21st century church. The author also presents a discussion of the historical definition of the term ordinance and why some throughout church history have defined feet washing as an ordinance to be practiced. At the end of each chapter are hymns that speak to the subject of feet washing.
Dr. J. Matthew Pinson is president of Welch College in Nashville, TN. Prior to his current position; he labored as a pastor, teacher, and published writer. A native of Pensecola, FL, Pinson holds degrees from Yale University, the University of West Florida, and Vanderbilt University.
